Opinions

I decided to send in my opinion articles for the next issue of the Accent a bit earlier than usual.. for me at least. I usually send them in either right before the deadline, right on time... or late. I do get them in, though, which I think is very important to remember. After a bit of contemplative thinking I decided to write up an article on new year's resolutions. To sum it up in a few short words, I said that they are, quite frankly, useless and hold no meaning for us in life. Yet, we still insist on making them. I can't figure out why.
But I digress. I was typing it up and I realized how easy it is to just fall back into the old routine. I had taken a 3-week long break from writing and here I am, just typing it up like I had been doing it all along. I'm not saying it was the most genius work I've ever put out, but it was probably the most comfortable one. I just wrote it as I thought it--sort of a conversation-type of article. That is what I love most about my job. I have freedom to express my work in any way, shape, or form. There is no limit--well, maybe there is, but it's too far out to see it. I love the lengths I can go to with my writing. Working as the Opinion Editor for the Accent has probably been my most rewarding job ever here at Southern.
