They were kicked out. They were cheated out of their land. Their ways frowned upon because they were "uneducated". Why were they ever labeled "savages" in the first place? Because of their dress? Their way of speaking?
It's funny because they were more medicinally advanced than the Europeans were when they first arrived here. They had been operating on brains long before Europeans were. Their success rate was about 80-90%. The White Man was going to their doctors before consulting their own, modern doctors.
It's also funny because even some of the White Men admitted to their having a more peaceful and harmonious and ideal environment than the White Man. They respected each other. They respected the land.
Why take their land? Why push them off and then try to justify it by dumping them on reservations? We could learn so much from them. We still can.
